Thanks Guys. It didn't start out this way, but it looks like I'm creating a montage of all the places I lived while growing up and trying to find my adult niche, even to working on a dairy farm for a year....lotsa fun, and great memories. :tb-cool:
Saucier Village is finally complete...until I think of something else it needs. :tb-wink: You're standing across from the station looking up Hill Street. Smith’s Store is on the left, and Nine Mile Tavern on the right, with Saucier Elementary and the Methodist Church behind. The Mayor’s house is just visible behind Smith’s Store. Saucier Power & Light is supplying electricity to all buildings, and to the village’s one stop light in the center of the intersection, which means we're really uptown now. :tb-cool:
VERY NICE!!! I really like the village, it's not flat like so many layouts. Can't wait to see more. Polski
Hank, your making me homesick, although the New Hampshire of my childhood (1970's) is a little different, it sure looks like home. Nice work!
This is a beautiful picture!! It looks like a lot of small towns you see while driving around the countryside. Very nice! Craig
Thanks, I guess it's a mixture of towns I remember from New Hampshire. Woulda liked to retire theah, 'cept for wintah, doncha know....:tb-wink:
The Saucier area, including Saucier Village, Saucier Creek, and Saucier Industrial Park. Also my "cabin in the woods" atop the hill in the background. The Local is just leaving Saucier Station after dropping me off to take this photo...:tb-wink: __________________
Wortham Dairy Farm is complete. OK, a scene is never complete for a modeler, but you know...:tb-biggrin: The top views show the total farm from two different angles. The bottom view shows the abandoned siding running next to the farmhouse. Thanks to Bruce-in-MA for giving me the idea of what to do with a siding that seemed like a good idea when I laid down track, but was obviously in the way when I decided to build the farm. I think I'll enhance the siding rails a little more so they show up better.
Thanks to advice, I've tried to make the rails of the abandoned siding more visible by scraping away some "grass" and allowing more of the painted rail to be seen. I also have added a little more scrub along the siding edges. You'll note that the farm owner is trying to get the hired hand to stop fiddling with the trailer hitch and start loading hay into the loft. Just can't get decent help nowadays.....:tb-hissyfit:
Thanks Jerry, I really appreciate that coming from you, someone who has carried "detail" to new levels.
This is a test at Charlie's request. I am attempting to quote my previous post. The test failed as seen. I made an additional observation not reported earlier. When I rested the mouse cursor on the "right-quotation marks +", there was a drop down display of "multi-quote this message". However, when I rested the cursor on both the "left-quotation marks" and on "Reply With Quote", there was no drop-down display, although the left quotation marks disappeared indicating that the cursor position was being recognized.
Just following up to test quoting (has been working fine for me) and also chime in on the "props" for the terrific layout. I've been following along and will definitely be using what I've learned on my layout.
I solved this problem - IE9 filters downloading HTML code, blocking anything that appears to be a security risk. After each page is downloaded and displayed, a small security notification menu is displayed at the bottom of the screen giving the option to display all content, or only secure content. I had been selecting only secure which blocked many reply functions. Now I allow all content and all problems are solved. Thanks PW&NJ, I appreciate your compliments.
Nothing wrong with that. If you don't have memories then what do you have? what/who are you? Looking good Hytec. Gary
