In laying down the layout from xtrkcad, I realized it would be way easier, and more accurate, as I'm planning on handlaying some track, to just tape the paper down exactly where the tracks are, and tape together with your standard office tape. First, is it going to be a problem to scenic over the paper? I would assume not, as most of you guys can scenic over pink foam, it should be ok. Maybe just as silly a question, is it a problem to scenic over the tape? This includes gluing track down, ballast, grass, etc your run of the mill scenery.
Tape interfering? In a word, yes. Simply because any scenery/ballast/etc needs to be glued to the scenery base, and the tape will get in the way of proper bonding. You can work around it, yeah, but don't you want it really well secured? I say use some good adhesive to glue your paper plans down, and then gluing over/to that paper will be fine because it's absorbent and itself permanent......
