Just painted up two DPM kits and need to do something about the empty interiors, what do you do with yours? Regards, Roger.
I do like I saw Randy do on his. I find a store front window shot or restaurant pic on the net "google/images"...and print it to scale...and glue it...from the inside...in the window opening. It gives the illusion of a working bussiness.:tb-wink: If someone is gonna lean over that far and look that close to critisize my buildings...I will run em over with a GP 38....LMAO!!:tb-biggrin: .
My DPM kit I made an interior out of styrene, detailed it out side then slid it in from the bottom. Looks pretty good. I made a 1/4 inch scale plan on the computer using CAD software, then converted the measures to N ( Or did the reverse, sorta forgot lol). The upper level was made to look "lived in" when lighted. I'll try to find pictures and post them! Cheers Adam
I don't have any DPM buildings on the JJJ&E, but aren't there store interiors that are made to go inside these buildings. If I remember correctly these store interiors have to be purchased separately. A Google search shows that DPM is now owned by Woodland Scenics. Interiors for DPM buildings were made by Tobias Locomotive Works which is now out of business. They must be available on EBay.....
I have a kibri building that needs some shop interior as well. Never checked Google images, but should do this. Pictures of an old train shop would be the best The bad thing is that this shop interior must be added in one of the first building phases of the kibri kit. So I cannot finish it and add the pictures later.
Here is a window shot of my recently finished "T.H.E. Gas Station/Convenience Store". Internet images found on Google...resized and glued to interior of the window. Even over plastic glass they look nice...I think anyways. Got the idea from Randy...on this post... http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=97650&highlight=napa :tb-cool: .
