Jon: You do great work! Have you tried modeling a PRR storage main boxcar. It had two doors per side with a long space between doors and was used in passenger trains. It had hoses for signal lines. If i remember right it was PRR class X42.

Sounds like an interesting car. I think John Wright was running at least one of them (possibly brass) during the Tyneside show in his passenger train, pulled by his steam turbine.

Your entire layout appears to be extremely well detailed, and everything seems to be in the correct proportion, junk among the weeds, rusty stuff to clean stuff, etc. Very well done. I am trying to achieve that kind of balance on my own stuff. Have you noticed that every modeler seems to have a signature, and you can spot his work by it? Like composers or songwriters have a certain pattern they use, and you can tell who they are in the first few seconds of a new, previously unheard song.
Thats not a bad thing, just kind of a trademark we all seem to have, no matter how we might try to change it. My scenery tends to be a little darker than a lot of guys, meaning I tend to use deeper colors, like the ground might appear to be slightly wetter than someone else's depiction of the same scene. My stuff appears to be March or April, and some other guys idea of the same scene might appear to have been representing July or August. But I like your style.

    Thanks mate.

I know what you mean about the signature modelling style, especially with solo modellers. I'm getting quite good at spotting Lance Mindheim's excellent work and freely admit to poaching some of his ideas.
