It's that time again. As I always ask the waitress, "What's on tap?" After a lazy week with a cold and no progress, I'm ready for some trackwork. I've got a couple of problem spots where I have occasional derailments, and it's time to do some bulletproofing. I may also install some Walthers traffic lights that have been sitting in boxes for months, and do some more work on the structures around Mooseport. How about everyone else? Shows, open houses, club layouts, railfainning or maybe just sitting down and running some trains, what are your plans?
I'll be at the Amtrak station in Rennesslaer NY tomorrow for the National Train Day thingy with a T-trak display. Sunday being Mothers day I'll either go up to my brothers home or install a new window in my house.
As I just outlined in the logging and mining group, I have a couple things going on this weekend. The first is perhaps what you could call 1:1 modeling, although kind of tangential, and that's WSFA's Steam School in Brooks. I will be helping prepare some of the traction engines for inspections, and I will also hopefully get some time with the steam powered sawmill crew. Time that I can squeeze together outside of that and Mother's Day activities will be spent with trackwork for the Keasey, Oregon, module part of my Oregon-American Lumber Co. projects.
Between working the graveyard shift tonight and doing the Mother's Day thing with the boys (spoiling their mother), I hope to do a little tracklaying on my Arthur Sub layout.
Not likely to get much accomplished this weekend since it is Mothers Day weekend and there so much around the house I need to get caught up on after being out of town for work the last 2 weeks. However, I did sketch out a track plan on the top level. I would like to at least lay out all of parts of my two rolling mills and develop a plan to kitbash two into one and use the extra parts for an additional structure.
I'm heading to a Train Show this morning, then I'm hoping to encourage a friend to work on his ore docks, then I'll try to make some progress on a couple engine projects (MILW 7 and ILSX 1340)
First, Thank you Mister Beasley for getting the thread started while I was out yesterday. Not fun RR stuff, but I'm hopping today that all that work back in January and February pays off, as I'm heading to the storage unit and getting train stuff organized. I'm joining the N-Trak club of Bloomington/Normal Monday night, they do T-Trak and are setting up at some shows. Need to get my two modules out and start working on them as well as the layout. My B&M layout is up, hopefully trains will run today and I can get back on track, molding rocks.
I am adding easements to the design of my first layout (N Scale 14 x 13). Not modeling any specific RR or area, just having fun. Wil be adding yards, industry etc in next phase. Paul
