Actually...it was early...arrived in LAUPT I believe 5:30pm ish...it was able to zoooom through the San Joaquin Valley...no passenger pickups along the way...other then crew changes...so it was able to make pretty good time...although it did stuggle up the hill...with the lead loco apparently running very rough...maybe a bad cynlinder...or two!
Early!? Well, I never thougth I'd see the day. There beens times when the Northbound Coast Starlight would come through Redding at a little before noon, when it is supposed to come through at around 2:30 in the morning. Unless it is usaully extremely early.
Superb picture Jeff I'll bet the people waiting at the grade crossing were surprised by that, after being used to Metrolink trains I think I must have driven over that crossing back in 1998
