Check out this interesting rail crossing. I figured it out as the lower line is way busy and the crossing line has little traffic. The lower line will not have to deal with the speed and maintenance issues of a standard crossing. Location is Emporia VA. Low line is CSX. High one is NS.

I'm not certain, but I think a similar crossing exists north of the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. They used to lay temporary track over the top of the mainline to get equipment in and out of the museum grounds, a la Railfair 91 and 99. :startled:
