Yesterday was a busy day on the Squamish Sub. CN ran 3(2 571's and 1 569) northbounds out of Squamish and 4(2 570's and 2 568's) southbounds out of Lillooet. Plus the passenger trains(Whistler Mountaineer and the Budd Lites) and the 546(Squamish Switcher(North Vancouver-Squamish)). Twelve trains on the entire sub yesterday. Picture: After making the trip from Lillooet to Squamish on my train, 568, the power sits at Squamish, ready to go north again on 571. The 3900's(B39-8) have been showing up a lot lately on the south end.
That's a beautiful area. I had the good fortune to visit the area twice back in 2002, including a chance to visit the museum at Squamish. Unfortunately I didn't have too much time to do any train watching other than visiting the museum. Regards Ed
Nice to see native power on their own home rails. Yes. It's beautiful up there. Perhaps a good reason that company attracted fans and followers. Boxcab E50
Hey, that's not its real home is it? I thought that I remembered catching those down here on their 'real' home rails
