It looks like I may be going back to modeling the narrow stuff. I will probably be selling a few BN locos including my SDP40 bash and an F7A with a F3B bash(the high fans were removed and low ones were installed). Both F's have had the fuel tanks and the frames modified. If I decide for sure, this stuff will be put up for sale on Sunday along with a few other odds and ends. I would rather sell it here instead of eBay and I would accept PayPal. It seems like I can't get the narrow gauge out of my system! [ February 20, 2005, 07:16 AM: Message edited by: slsfnut ]
Hmm, I may have some stuff for you if you do decide to go that way. I was starting to go with HOn3 before I switched to Nn3. I was having trouble getting all the layout I wanted into my tiny space.
HOn3 certainly has its attractions. So does Nn3. Now that I've gotten some kind of handle on N--after 30+ years--I think I'll go the narrow gauge there. Z scale track, though, seems worth its weight in gold.
Narrow gauge stuff seems to be extremely additive. So I've avoided reading or following much of the D&RGW, etc. However, I do find HOn30, and even Sn2, quite interesting. Very tempting........ Boxcab E50
I decided to go ahead and list a few things. I set up a webpage to do this so click on the link! Thanks! And don't worry, I won't go away. sale page
Concerning narrow gauge, long ago (20 years) I tried some of the Bemo H0m models but quickly found out that they were still too big for my tiny space, especially the radii were still too large. So I switched to N-scale, and now I am building a "real layout" in the basement and am happily running quite long trains. Can't say that narrow gauge was that addictive to me, but I might have saved a lot of money due to the limited selection of models The big advantag I have now: I can also model American trains, and I love this.
