Is it required that you call them for them to process your online order? It seems every time I place an order it sits for weeks, then I call and it ships within a day. I placed an order on 11/21 for two in stock items and have not had any shipment or email responses.
It probably couldn't hurt; they're a small Business and if not mistaken have a contract doing the online that communicates with them. So if you inquire it probably would draw attention to it for an extra look. However they do mean well and are some nice people; that's why probably when you called prior your order shipped out shortly after
i recently received an email from wigwag. obviously george has some serious health issues. might have slowed down his business.
I had to call their number and was told to call the store directly because they were travelling. Once I did that, the order shipped. Quirky service.

I have no idea as to order or inventory status of the store 175 miles away in Albuquerque. I pre-order through Wig-Wag and really like the "hold for shipping" option that they offer. I don't need stuff right away and would rather get a pack every 6 months and pay once for shipping. They've never let me down on pre-order placed through the website. When I need something, I give them a call to see what they have in my bin and they ship it out quickly. For items that I need right away, I use other places with real-time inventory.
I had been looking for Santa Fe's Lone GP40 #2964 for years. http://atsf.railfan.net/gp40/ A few years back I saw Wig Wag had on old ad for this very locomotive. On a hunch I contacted them. They still had 2 in stock ! I bought one. It was a Kobo Shopped unit ! Still runs like a fine watch !! Ordered it and received it in less then a week !! I have ordered a few other items from George and dont remember any problems. I also heard he is/was having some health issues...so maybe I will/would cut them some slack...JMO
My experience with Wig-Wag is rather limited; they participated in the Galesburg, Illinois Railroad Days model train show in past years and had an excellent selection of n-scale. I have limited experience ordering from them, and was delighted. I am sad to see persons so quick to criticize a dealer publically instead of making an effort to contact them privately by telephone or e-mail to resolve this issue or question.
