I downloaded it and went thru the install process, but I can not get it to open as a program. Also, I'm a Windows person, and only use this Mac-mini for surfing the internet so I'm not proficient with it. How do I get it to open?
I'm betting you don't have X11 installed. It's on your OS-X CD under "Optional Installs", or you can download the open source version (XQuartz) from here. Apple actually pulls stable releases from XQuartz to provide the X11 on their OS releases. Once you've got XQuartz or X11 installed, then XTrackCAD should start with a double-click. If it doesn't, or if you get stuck on a later step, check back.
Thanks but I installed both the X11-2.5.0dmg (Leopard) and XQuartz-2.5.0dmg (Snow Leopard) and they said I need 10.5 or later ... I have Version 10.4.11.
Oh. Sorry. I assumed you were running Leopard or Snow Leopard. You should be able to install X11 from your Tiger install disk. If not, you might try installing the 1.0 version (technically for OSX 10.3) from Apple's support website and then updating it. You really need X11 1.1 but Apple apparently doesn't have it on the website - only on the install CD. As far as I can tell. Edit: No warranties, expressed or implied, but apparently this fellow has decided to put Apple's X11 for 10.4 on his blog. If all else fails you can try this, but the only thing I know about this blog is that Google found it, so I can't endorse or otherwise say what it might really be...
