When you name your freelance railroad and letter some rolling stock only to find out you can not spell. My rail road was MWQ ( MID WEST QUARRY )I thought Midwest was two words oops. I have since changed it ti M&W( Minnesota and western)

Might have been OK with the original. The Northwestern Pacific is NWP.

Now, that said, I did something sort of similar way back when. I named my HO road "Mountain And Pacific", had some decals made with that spelled out and also "MAP" for reporting marks. I then tried to register the name with NMRA to find out it was already taken (well "Maintain '&' Pacific" was anyway). Then I also realized there was no (or not many) railroads that had "And" spelled out in the name versus just an "&". I've since tried to come up with a (primarily western) railroad name that would go with MAP, as the logo I designed is really cool. The logo could possibly also be read as APM in a pinch and, if you held your head just right and squinted, maybe you could get AMP out of it too. Ideas??
