You know your a railfan when...... BNSF employees refer to your railfan Jeep as the smallest Geep on the system. People notice your shirt at the gas pump and ask if you work for said RR. Accesorize and cooridnating your livingroom means painting the walls B&M blue and adding a wall of O B&M trains and framed art. You refer to your drive to work as the "Rockford Branch." Your "things to do" list is called a "Redady Board." Your wife refers to colors as, "no that looks more like a BN Cascade Green, not MEC Pine Green." All true and all about myself and Tina:angel:
That's priceless! As much as I used to 'fan in Cheyenne (Great Falls, MT is not nearly as busy), I'd bet many crews recognized my black Dakota or my pewter Pontiac... But I can't say they've been referred to as such..
I dunno if this one has been mentioned but here goes anyway. You might be a foamer if you have a bumper sticker saying "My other car is a (insert locomotive type here)".
You have railfanned SRT too much when... You have red and green flags in your car You heard Someone mentions "HID" , you thought of a loco instead of a car's headlamp you climb up to roof of your car to top up the coolant. you stay in Krung Sri River Hotel every time you visit Thailand you think that buying food along the way is better than going to dining car (At some station we do have some delicious treats to try like coconut ice cream at Baan Pa Chi Junction Station.:shade: ) I think you'll enjoy these jokes :biggrin2:
You know you're a railfan when: When you refer to slowpokes on the highway as 'in helper service' When your hat for work has the words 'Train Junkie' and a diagram of a Northern type steamer; and EVERYONE knows whose hat it is!
..............when you can, with little effort, sniff out either a hobby shop, model RR club, train show, or railfan location at every place you've been to, ignoring most of the other scenic attractions in the area. .............when you rate your traveling asignments not on the facilites you worked at, but the railfanning potential in or near the area.
Hey, I resemble that remark! That's the biggest plus, if I would ever have to move back to Minot, ND. As much as I disliked the place, it had good action, and no Armour Yellow to be found. My wife hollers at me about the first one you listed--every time we go on vacation!:teeth:
You know your a railfan,,,when your 10 minutes late for a funeral service, your wifes mad, and all she can say is " you just had to get one more #$%^ train photo didn't you. inch
You know your a railfan when you stop out in the middle of the road to get a picture of a fresh painted BNSF locomotive
You know I did some of those things before But You really got my attention when You said This: I get UP trains coming through Senatobia, Miss. and I be like "Senatobia. How Could they be in Senatobia when there's a UP Freight going by?"
When you're out till 1:30 AM to shoot an unpatched ATSF Warbonnet, then have to get up at 7:20 to go to school.
....You have license plates that say "DRGW Fan".... You get up at 0500 on your vacation to be trackside at first light, and then chase trains for 3 solid days, and cover more than 800 miles in doing so....:shade: :shade: :shade: :shade:
....when your watching a movie and a part comes on that shows a train and you say "that ain't right", and your wife says, "its just a movie"!
