..........if they spell it COMMADORE VANDERBILT, they can join C-C for the boner that it pulled with its shovel nosed hudson of Chinese manufacture. The correct spelling is COMMODORE VANDERBILT. There were other things about the C-C shovel nosed that had COMMODORE VANDERBILT hung on it that were not quite correct, be it the one of Japanese or Chinese manufacture. The version of Chinese manufacture also had an incorrect number. I am assuming that they plan to use their dB shrouded pacific chassis as the basis for this. Maybe they would consider doing one in N scale. Commodore Vanderbilt was one of two US locomotives that had two different shrouds on it during its service life. NYCS did later give this one a bullet nose so that it looked like its brothers/cousins. ********************************************************************* This post is brought to you, in part, by the Spelling and Grammar Police, which thanks you for your consideration, support N uhtenshinn 2 gud Grandma N Spilling **********************************************************************
The confusion resulted from this thread having been started in the N Scale forum. It was moved to the Z scale forum after Sizemore made his comment. Just wanted to clarify that little item. Regards Ed
Yes, Marklin released this officially last year. The locomotives are available now from your authorized Marklin dealers (or Walthers dealer). It is item 88075. Rob
