Another Bmann 4-4-0 that will not run. One should invest in Atlas 4-4-0 if they want one that will run. And at that price, come on!
Can we get a HATE button in addition to the like button? Absolutely HATE having to sort thru all these junk High Speed trains when looking for Southern Pacific...even if I limit it to specific brands, these still sneak in. Last week there was someone selling a bunch of junk MP, Bach, High Speed, Trix, etc trains and had them listed under (as in: in the heading) Micro Trains Rolling Stock. I sent him a note saying that none of them were Micro Scale. He responded that they were N scale...aren't all N scale trains called Micro Trains?
Or your basic keyword spamming. For example, the guy "New to eBay" (well, new if compared to the age of the planet) who jams every possible manufacturer into a listing.
I Wonder what ebay would Look Like with a Cool , Like , Dislike , Love emoji feature! For RD-READERS DIGEST- , Damaged etc. Tom
I would vote for them having an emoji which is simply a rusty and beat up old trash can. That might get the message across to a very few nitwit sellers out there.
Once a seller lists something and pays the listing fee, they are allowed to relist without paying the listing fee a second time...only a fee when (if) it sells. So once they list something, they can just keep relisting until it sells or they get tired of relisting...(as I understand it)
There was a time when ebay was a more respectable and civilized place. I stopped going there about 10-12 years ago because I started seeing the decline of quality and civility. I wonder how they are still around, or why anyone would really buy there.
Seems to me it's because despite everything, they are still the dominant way to reach the maximum number of potential buyers. I look at Facebook (yeah, I know) as an example of an attempt to dislodge eBay from its perch. As with other gathering places before it, there is no one venue for buying and selling. There are instead multiple groups with differing rules, probably different moderation policies, and different participation rates-- and common to all of them is the higher potential to get taken by a bad actor. Civility is not always assured there either; for example one seller didn't like a remark made on a listing and recommended that the commenter perform an anatomically impossible act. The fact that these comments were allowed at all, much less stayed up for days, turned me off of that particular group. On the other hand, who wants to be a moderator these days? Then there are auctions hosted on Facebook Live, which are attended rather lightly when compared to the audience that eBay gets. And let's just say that a non-trivial amount of the items offered meet the criteria for a mention on this thread. There have been other attempts to mimic eBay online-- anyone remember GoMotorBids, for example? They've all failed. I don't like it but I can't say I'm surprised.
If one Looks closely at this you'll see that it happens to be a Low Nose ALCO RSD15 ! Not a C420. Here is a Enlarged photo . Tom
Yeah, for that price, I think I'd wait for this one: https://www.fiferhobby.com/broadway-limited-alco-rsd-15-locomotive/
