Train load of crushed limestone coming off the Galveston Sub (tracks in foreground) onto the UP Sunset Route at Rosenberg.
About a year ago NS removed its large vintage diesel fuel tank from the nearby yard and now refuels by tank truck just as seen above. Environmental liabilities and regulatory tank management requirements make it an increasingly logical choice.
@Hardcoaler I understand what you are saying but it somehow seems like heresy for a truck to refuel a train. Jus' sayin'. All your pics are first rate.

I thought that I was the only one who things like that. Getting old can be fun at times. But just keep on chugging.
Midtrain DPU on CP 149, the hot Chicago-Vancouver intermodal... The GN-built passenger station Amtrak uses is seen in the background, where one NORMALLY sees BNSF units...
Not a great shot by any means, but a BIG deal for me was this chance grab of a BNSF unit trailing today on NS train 15R at Blythewood, SC. I've taken a bunch of train pictures, but have very, very few with BNSF power. The train had a UP leader, with Uncle Pete now becoming a common sight around here.
