Just spent some time going through my Daylight Locomotive book and found some good photos of GS2's but none without skirting.
Have a day off since I had a dentist appt. this morning, so I will get some modeling done today. Mainly fixing more trees eaten by mice. But its always good to upgrade the scenery.
Thanks Jerry. That helps. Looks like I'll have to get a GS shell and marry it with a Bachmann Northern. Hope you can post photos of your progress. Sure miss them -anything since Franklin Canyon? Al
I'll get some photos posted soon. Wifes camera battery is dead. Nothing new in Franklin Canyon since the start of the underpass. Work on the Muir Bridge is going to have to be rethought. Taking Bob at TrainCats advice, I did a 'mock-up' of what I was going to use and it looked wrong. The girders were way too small for this bridge, so I am looking at some other choices.
Got her camera charged..... This is a big derailment problem in n scale...stinkin mice poo. Also the problem with my trees being ruined. Cooks pest control will be coming out to see what they can do about the problem. I'm tired of them destroying my work.
Found a bunch of my drawers had these little homes in them......now I know where all my poly fiber has been going.
They will do for now till the problem gets taken care of. Really they blend in pretty good and might end up staying.
If I get some decent days this week I am going to add more static grass to this area too where they have chewed bushes off and left some bare areas.
So far you're just dealing with superficial damage. Wait till a "family" decides to burrow into a foam mountain. I had that very thing happen and then it really got bad. I baited them to kill them. Big mistake. Should have trapped them. I won't get into the ugly details but they didn't smell anything like Old Spice!
Possibly time to consider a 1:1 scale rodent exterminator, A.K.A. Cat, or family thereof. If the garage is made cat friendly with food, water, and sleeping accomodations, the rodent population should decrease rapidly, even though the cats are given full access to roam the outside world. Cats do NOT like rodent infestation anywhere near their comfortable home living quarters, no how, no way!!!!! Does the concept of "Barn Cats" come to mind?
Another option would be to get some N-scale goats and put them in the bare areas. :tb-tongue: Seriously though, looking great! What's your process, or is it described earlier in this thread?
I think I described it somewhere in all these posts....LOL Nothing fancy, just basic scenery skills. This time was the Bachmann trees in the three packs, and Woodland Scenic Fine Leaf Foliage.
Havent had that happen yet Clark, but one did decide to use the area between two tracks in the yard as his little runway and knock several cars over, some to the floor in an unprotected area.
