    Solo_clipper:

I watch CP/SOO every day out my window here in Milwaukee. I live downtown in a condo overlooking the old Milwaukee Road mainlines and yards. CP is very active in Milwaukee with both unit and mixed trains.

So, even though Joe says "Never say never', I've already made my plans. I'm gonna pick up that Milwaukee Road GP-9 as my CP "Heritage" unit and just let it trail behind those STUNNING CP/SOO GP-35's.

Do you see much CP where you are in Saskatchewan?

Growing up in southern Sask, by the Canada Us boarder it was all CP and Soo. That is how I got into those roads, hence Gp7/9 bring back the memories. Where I live now in central Sask CN is the mainline.

Well, I saw the CN GP-9 in action today at my local hobby shop. All I can say is "wow." It floored me. So smooth, so handsomely painted, great detail, and it was crawling along at a snail's pace pulling a good set of cars. I stood and watched for nearly an hour. Good job on this one Joe. That loco's definitely a looker! I won't make my decision on buying CN until I see that Milwaukee Road loco in a couple months. I can't get them both so as I said above I'll probably pick up the Milw as my heritage loco. Anyone ever see CP lash up a GP35 and a GP9? Have any of you already lashed up your MTL GP35 and GP9? Can they run well together?

    Hi Russ,

Thanks, I really like the look of that CN GP as well...one of the more striking schemes. As for running the GP9 and the GP35 together, it should be no problem since they share the same chassis. Speaking of which, the SD40-2 and E8 chassis first shots ought to be here soon and I will post some photos and a video of them all running. Again, the mech and motor is the same as are the PC Boards and connectors. So, speeds and DCC considerations will be the same.

Oh...I should have some pics of the Milwaukee shell soon, saw the paint the other day and it's pretty clean.

    Cheers
