To kick things of this weekend I have a Santa Fe passenger train. Must be somewhere in Oklahoma or Kansas? Typical photos of these trains usually have a fish belly baggage and express car somewhere in the head end mix.
The Warbonnet is my favourite paint scheme, Russell. This image does it great justice. Nicely done! It get's Crandell's vote for Photos of the Week list. :tb-biggrin: Here is my week's effort. A Union Pacific TTT-6 is about the rejoin the main after depositing a small cut of coal hoppers 3.5 miles back up the spur at Sentinel Coal.
A prisoner on work detail near a rip track sits on a convenient SD40 to take a break ... or maybe he's waiting for a chance to make a break for it.
Come one, come all! If you are in or near the San Francisco Bay area... Rails Across the Bay 2009 PCR Convention - Home Page This week, Wed-Sun, April 15-19, 2009, is the NMRA Pacific Coast Region Convention, it's in Fremont CA (San Francisco Bay area), at the : Fremont Marriott Silicon Valley 46100 Landing Parkway Fremont, California 94538 USA It's going to be a great time, the above URL shows the great number of fun model and prototype railroad events: * Convention schedule: http://www.pcrnmra.org/conv2009/pdf/RAB09-Daily-Schedule.pdf * World-class Layout tours: Rails Across the Bay 2009 PCR Convention - Layout Tours * Super fun and interesting Clinics: Rails Across the Bay 2009 PCR Convention - Clinics (I will be giving a 1 hour clinic, "John Sing's Worldwide Model Railroad Layout Tour", on Thursday afternoon 230pm and Friday evening 830pm) * Events and Proto Tours (such as (extra-fare) special ride on the Niles Canyon tourist railway (http://www.ncry.org): Rails Across the Bay 2009 PCR Convention - Prototype Tours Much much more! If you are not an NMRA member and have never been to one of the PCR conventions, you can come for the discounted rate of $9.95 six-month trial NMRA membership fee plus discounted $75 registration (includes all the clinics, layout tours, all the events except for the extra fare events, *and* includes the banquet!). Have a look at the web site, and give it serious consideration ... at this cost, four full days of model railroading and prototype fun, with couple hundred of fellow model railroader/ railfans from all over.... is a bargain. The layout tours alone are worth the price - many layouts that have been featured in Model Railroader, there are simply some astounding ones to see. Hope to see some of you there, and if you do see me around just introduce yourself and I'll be happy to give some pointers or intro you to people so make your visit to the NMRA Pacific Coast Region Convention a great one.
WOW Pete. That looks great. How long is it? Wait. Just googled it: 541 real feet = apporx. 3' 5". Are you compressing it any? Eric

I just finished installing a DZ125 decoder in this GP40. Anybody notice anything unusual about it? Put your sharp peepers to work.
