For the green trees I'm using WS fine green blend turf. That is pretty much the base color. I'll make some with some "Burnt Grass" or "Weeds" sprinkled on for variation too.

For the Autumn trees I picked up a pack of WS "Flowers", which is a small collection of colorful fine ground foam. The colors on there own are WAY to bright and uniform, so I use plenty of the green blend turf along with the fall foam.

This photo shows what I mean. Plenty of green, with more color toward the top.:)

    Alright then!

I have not made huge progress on the layout, I'm at a kind of stalling point until I get more plaster/sculptamold.

I have been going around adding some details to the scenery though, mostly sprinkling leaves around here and there. Since I am now modeling early autumn there should be a few more fallen leaves strewn about.

Here are some that have fallen on the rock cut...

Sweeeeeeet, Caleb! You've got an eye for the natural look of ground cover.
(I hope that engineer brought his shades with him!)

    Amazing scenes!

I LOVED the blur shot!!! What was your exposure length?
If you run an engine by, you should get the streaked lights, too:

I'm afraid not, lifes been busy. And my engine has not come yet, it seems my "few days to get here" estimation was a bit off!

Thanks Hemi, it was just a few seconds exposure in a dim room.

    Alright then!

I've made some progress this week for the first time in a while...

First, I picked up some Woodland Scenics tree armatures for a few "signature" trees.

First, I glued bits of Super Tree branches to the armatures...

The other project I have been working on is a fairly major one. Replacing the bridge over the river.

I used the old ballasted deck bridge before because I it had on hand at the time, but I have always wanted a deck girder bridge here.

So here is the scene as it is now.:)

The piers and abutments are from Chooch and the girders are modified Model Power bridges.

I'm using Micro Engineering turnout ties and then cutting them to bridge tie length.

Here they are being assembled into the bridge deck. The pieces of cardstock keep the ties the right distance apart.

    On the girders.

I've got a few more ties to add and then the deck will be finished. :D

    As always, questions? Comments? Criticism?

I'm late to this thread and I've been glued to your every shot!

Outstanding! Makes my efforts look like childs play. Nicely done.

Thanks for sharing, absolutely no criticism here, just awe! :)

    Thanks TRT2!

I just got all the ties finished. Right now it looks a bit too dilapidated for a mainline, but I figure that once I give it an even coat of paint it should look better.

Here they are, temporarily resting on the girders.
