Just in time for the November show with the TrainCat loading platforms. Oh the incentive I need to work on modules ! .
Since I am at it: Update: working sample approved by AZL and all initial roadname artwork is also approved. These units are delicate and we will use a blister pack (wrap) as protection. When do they hit the market? Probably in two months time. Sincerely,
Looks like Nov is going to a expensive month for me. Its going to be the CSX four bay hopper and the funnel cars, but its a good thing.
I have two long sidings and TrainCat oil loading platforms waiting on those ! November is a great time to show them off. .
Roadnames? Hans, Can you post what the first couple of sets of roadnames will be on the Tank cars? ACFX DOWX XOM MOBX CELX Any of the above? Hobo Tim
Tim, I've sworn Hans to secrecy on the Tank Cars! But let's just say that you will not be disappointed. Best, -Rob(A)
Stay tuned for release information of AZLs long awaited 23000 gallon Funnel Flow Tank Cars! Sincerely,

Hey? say what? ....Tank car?...Someone said tankcar? Hey??? To much snow in my ears right now! Here's one of mine.... Yep! I should finish the decals... Procor white letter are ready, but so much to do & so little time:bear-wacko: Ben
Wow Ben! That's beautiful!!! I love it. Will that be coming out as a kit? If it is, count me IN!!! Bill Mock
Hi Bill To answer your question, unfortunately no, even if all the attachment are laser made in wood, the main tank is turned on a lathe (it is pine wood), and the process is long, a coat of varnish, plus sanding, varnish again ,and sand again, and I don't play with resins (in case the idea of molding comes to mind:bear-wink. I then drilled little holes under the belly to insert steel pellets inside the tank to give more weight. Ben
Thanks Ben. She's a beauty. And I am quite amazed that more tank cars of this modern era aren't produced. Let's hope that the new AZL Funnel Car is just a start! Bill Mock
Ben, GREAT job on the car. I think when you see our AZL injection molded cars you will be amazed at how much of the deail work is similar to what you have been able to achieve. Want a part time job as a designer? How well do you speak Chinese? Best, -Rob(A)
LOL! :bear-laugh: Thanks Robert for the offer, but I think I'll stick with the 3 languages I already now. (French, English, & German, if enough for my head capacity right now), and regarding the Chinese, I'll pass on my comments (it would turn too political) Since I am working very closely against them right now, related to my day job:bear-wink:. Ben
The AZL Funnel Flows are going to be great addition to the fleet. I have a couple of Kurt's 30' and 50' and gallons. http://www.3rworks.com/TankCarE.htm These are made from aluminum tubing and etched stainless. Always good to have variety. A little less sanding there Ben. .
