Color? Do you use a different color depending on the base color of the running boards and loco?

Lightly thinned...dust/mud. Very light along the walkways/running boards and heavier on the ends of the fuel tank where even the best loco washers won't reach. I don't take base color into account. I just weather in layers until I think it looks right.

I've been working on several painting / weathering projects since early spring, working on airbrush techniques. This is an undec Athearn Baldwin blue box. No added detail, just paint, decal and some weathering. [IMG]

Here it's pulling a couple of empties from the coal supply company building.

Very nice paint scheme, George V. I hope you will post more of the H0 scale here at TB WNFF.

Here is my H0 scale for the weekend. Weathered with acrylics, airbrush, and chalk, then all sealed with clear. I have an N scale engine with the same number as I used to see this engine in both Dolores Yard, Los Angeles and in Kirby Yard, San Antonio.

Hi, all, great photos. I'm way busy with work these days and no time to model
or take new photos - but it's great to see other's work. :)

I have most of the Seymour Block building done. All that remains is the three chimneys and some window glazing.

It would be done tonight if Microscale decals for B&O steam were anywhere close to the right font. I didn't feel like dusting off the Alps tonight and fighting with creating deluxe gold lettering. I'll work on that tommorrow. Oh, and an engineer and decoder.

    Concerned?

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but Flash has been only posting HO stuff lately, and with some track casually flopped on top of his N scale layout. Oh the torment he must be going through as he seems torn between scales. Maybe he will end up an S scaler? You OK big guy?

John Sing, Nice to see more of your layout. Small but well executed and consistantly the same era models. When do you plan to weather it all?

I have been playing with oils for weathering latley, but have a heavy hand. In time and experience I will move onto the layout bound cars but here is an experiment. The yellow and silver was done with acrylics and the BAR was done with oils. Gotta love the roof rust from the oils.

    Awesome photos everyone.
I did not notice at first viewing that flash placed the HO scale track on his N Scale layout....too funny :) Could be worse, G scale track on the N scale layout :)

I wanted to do 1:1 scale but the wife said no. So I defected back to HO scale.

I'll be using the clear plastic sheet that came with the kit but not until after I've applied the matt spray.

Jeff: What technique do you use to create the faded and bleeding green paint on the panels below the windows? It's very realistic looking.

I put some black on it then go over it with the green.
