I don't think anyone makes a sound decoder for the GP15-1 yet, I think it has a different frame than than Atlas' other GPs but I'm not sure. But rest assured, when I get one I will video it and share it here!
Not just off topic, but COUNTER-topic. I don't think I've acquired any new locos in 8 or 10 years, and don't think I need any. I have what I need to represent the Santa Fe in 1956 or thereabouts, AND to handle the trains I want to run. Now when I can get my layout together, it may change. Getting that first roundy-round all the way around the room, with turnouts cut in on the continuous route for access to future yards and spurs. My interest in acquisitions runs to rolling stock I haven't had, such as IGN (MoPac Texas affiliate) cars, Atlas's banana reefer, etc. Most of what I want, I expect to have to build.
Never thought I'd have any UP locomotives but if you want to model something like Walula WA. you got to have a few in the roster. Also have a CP AC4400cw on the way along with a slug of IM ARR F7s on order. Brian
I bought a locomotive today that brought me weak to my knees when I saw it. It is a Kato SD70MACe in "Heritage" colors. I am still trying to figure this out. It is painted in Southern Pacific Daylight colors, with "Southern Pacific" on the sides of the hood, but the number reads "Union Pacific 1999" which is when supposedly the UP bought the SP? I took a picture of it it is soooooo good looking, but I lost my photo software and can't transfer it to my Photobucket. I am getting new software tomorrow and will post it on a new entry. During this time take my word for it, down and out, it is probably the prettiest loco today, and UP made 4 other Heritage locos, and they looked good, but I didn't recognize the paint and letters. 1996 you mean? Now you see why I got the CNW one.. It basically drove me crazy till I found it. These heritage units are nice. ---- for uploading just to google and search tinypic you can upload the file straight from the site.
I picked up UP 4141 "George H. Bush" SD70Ace before I departed back in June. Wasn't able to take a pic before I left though, but it's sitting in my display case back home. Brian
You bet:tb-wink: Here's the current status of one of the GP40-2's... still have a lot of work to do...
It's a resin copy of the old Sunrise part. Not aware of any currently available, but would be fairly easy to build using Details Associates parts and some styrene.
Question...... Thanks SP4009 Thanks CNW 1518 I now have four Union Pacific C44-9Ws with like road number and I would like to change that........now here's the question. What decal brand do you use to customize the road numbers on your old run Kato Union Pacific C44-9Ws?
I just sprung for my final purchase for at least a couple of months. I lost a pretty big bidder's war on eBay for a ConCor GS4 which went over $220, way more than I wanted to pay, but I haven't seen them available for awhile. So I went for it and lost. The very next day, 3 "Buy It Nows" show up and I picked a new one for under $180. Went for it and it is now on its way to me, so the buyer says. This will be my prime "Daylight" locomotive when it comes to me, and I retire my Kato unit. Ken "FloridaBoy" Willaman
