First of the New Year!--1/8/2011 "The Daily Freight" I know there are many more great layout photos out there! Don't be afraid to share!
Lots of amazing work to marvel at! Here is one I tooled around with over the holidays: keep it going! my best, Jan
Wow, remarkable shots everyone! Great job with the scenery and the photos are excellent. I'll be keeping this thread for a reference tool. Be sure to post any D&RGW that you have! :bear-wink:
Tom, You could come over to my place and see them for yourself. I'm thinking they are between 6% and 8%. The Shay pulls full loads up and down. I have the N Climax that runs on fairly level track to the mine. CM&T stands for Cascade Mining & Timber Company. Modeling year is October, 1931. It is a runners layout and actually only has a mining camp for buildings. There 9 bridges, 3 tunnels, two mines, and 2250 hand made trees. I've had folks from as far away as Quebec come to see my layout so a trip a few miles to Santee should be possible if you want. PM me if your interested. That goes for anyone else for that matter. Thanks for the compliments. Jim
My first night shot. A few things to play with, like the height perspective, but for flopping the camera down on the layout ans snapping it off, I love how this came out. The Penn Cenral incarnation of the Turbotrain readys to launch from LaSalle station on the Naptown & White River. Before their Chicago-St Louis test runs, the NWR tried them out for regional service in Indiana. Though successful, the support network for the Turbo wasn't there and the NWR sent it on to its fates. A rescued scrap Turbo sat on track 5 at East Bend until 2009, when a small Avaition company bought the "stuffed" Turbo to rebuild.
Nothing fancy! Not a layout picture, just a T-Trak module based on Polo IL. I used it to stage a shot of Metra units I painted for someone.
Fancy or no, that's a good lookin' paint job. Having tried to do DLMX 231, I know those F40s can be a nuisance to paint/mask/stripe.
Hey Jim, I'll see your Metra units and raise you only one (that still isn't finished yet!): New Lisbon module is Bill Denton's modeling showcase. I just plopped my Metra unit and a Look Models Metra bi-level next to it. Need to get a decoder into the Metra bi-level unit so the lights make sense! Fun stuff and great photos everyone...
Like others have said, some truly inspiring work on this thread! Here are a few of mine...like others, most of it is still a work in progress requiring more details, accessories and weathering....
