    Dear Atlas,

While milling around the layout, I had a thought I wanted to share.

Any chance you'd want to revisit the SD60? It looks like its been 9 years since the last release? That being said maybe tool the famously ugly crescent cab for the SD60E as part of the release? I think a trifecta of SD60 variations would be worthy of several reservations (SD50/60, SD60M/I, SD60E). I know the SD60E has very small changes to the details of the longhood, but imho I'd be willing to ignore them. Heck maybe even set these little babies up with working ditchlights?

With the recent release of the heritage units and their success, I can think of a few recent NS paint schemes in the SD60E you could release. I'd buy all three!!!

Also, how about Conrail, SOO (3 window), CSX, UP(3 window), CP? I'd be willing to reserve one or two of these as well...

Can anyone else weigh in on this?

So in conclusion... please, pretty please with cherries on top???

    Respectfully,
    Josh

YES! I'd really like to see redone SD60s! I'd go broke on SD60E's and I'd really like to see more M's. We've not seen any SD60Is I think, so they would be welcome. A redone straight 60 with ditch lights would be epic, and throw a Loksound in each of these and models and . To be honest I'd rather see Atlas do a standard cab SD70 first, but I'd still go for some 60's.

While I agree, I was thinking Atlas wouldn't have to change much as far as tooling. Unless the 70 is just a souped up version of the 60 (they look similar at first glance)?

Ahh, I was referencing Spookshow's site. whoops. But still bring on the 60's!

How about some new locomotives in the Trainman series ?!! For those of us who dont need all the bells and whistles (literally). Sound is not a necessity for everyone...thnxs

Yes at first glance they look similar but 70's have different trucks, walkway/handrails, they are longer, and different fans I think. Maybe someone else would know of more differences.

Sound in N scale sucks. Until someone can come up with a better delivery system aka speakers, you are wasting yours and my time. HO is questionable but works fairly well. Pleasing most toy train operators. If you are going to do sound it needs to replicate correctly the locomotive it represents. So to all the would be decoder specialist, quit dinking around and do it right or not at all.

I prefer to use railroad sounds via my stereo/surround system for background train sounds. By far better quality but not synced very well. Harrumph.

Here's a challenge for you. How about those that are hearing impaired? Someone, needs to come up with something for them.

Ok, I've vented and shared my two cents. Time to run and duck for cover....Sigh!

I could definitely root for this idea. In a market where there is little left to do (short of copying what others have already done) this provides an interesting little niche, that I guess may not be that big a niche with all those road names that you've pointed out :)

    Good though sir.

I'm hoping for some DCC friendly RS frames and a C636.

I'm just wishing Atlas would fix the hold up of whatever it is that's causing them to not finally ship the GP 38-2s that I've had on reserve for almost a year. :-(

I fully agree with #750 on the C636. I'll take mine in BN, thank you !!! But, what I REALLY want is Baldwin Center Cabs !!!

Its been less than 3.5 years, the lastest run of SD60s just hit the store shelves not too long ago.

I'm still waiting for a U33/36C, hard to believe no one has made them. Atlas make a HO model, why not a N-scale also?

ATLAS already produces the SD50, SD60 SD60M, I'm quite sure that we modelers could kit bash a SD40E or SD60E. We shouldn't forget that CC -CONCOR had the SD40 and the SD50 as well.

I wouldn't say nobody has made them since they have been done in brass. Just a matter of finding one at the price you want to pay... ;)

Were talking about Atlas here, and as far as I know Atlas doesn't make Brass locos. I also need more than one, my VN/EL TOFC trains need three.

After your umpteen page dissertation about your FVM diesel, I would think you would be more concerned about performance than that. The Trainman line doesn't just short change you on the detail side.

Interesting point about sound though, since no Atlas locomotive ever made in n-scale has ever had sound.

I guess you gave up a no-basis-in-fact argument against details for an even less-basis-in-fact argument about sound. I guess since it doesn't exist it's certainly harder to dispute that it's not the reason prices are going up. Model railroad prices not keeping up with inflation has NOTHING to do with it, I suppose?

So yeah, BRING ON THE 70's technology locos to save $15!!! Wooohooo!
