Thank you for the information. I happened to spot that engine visiting the museum about 15 years ago. But my question was more turned towards current revenue earning freight operation. Dom
Caught this GE leading a coal empty west out of Glendive a couple of weeks ago. Stood in the wye and video'd away. Was a good way to end a work day and first fanning I had been able to do for a while!

The Cascade Tunnel east portal is a fantastic place to watch trains. The door and ventilation system for the tunnel are located there
A excellent railfan location is the Amtrak depot in Vancouver Wn. There is tracks on three sides of the depot since it sits in a wye a
I see four photos of the east portal tunnel doors, etc. A following post appears to be missing something.
Way back in June I got to spend some bday time watching some train action here at home. And a fortunate bit of timing it was! Caight the switch crew, a coal load power and an empty ! All in about 5 minutes time. Sometimes life is sweeter than others! And then the coal! It ain't steam, or any other past RR activity/name, but it is railroading!
Yup! It does purty well. It has moments, probably operator related, when it doesn't do a good focus all over. But I am liking the resolution. And the still photos it takes are great, too! That tunnel door reminds me of some doors on the Navy Carriers.
This video is fantastic. I have it in my collection. Charles Smiley does a excellent job merging vintage film and modern day video. There are things in this video that are now long gone. A must for SP and ATSF fans
I have been watching for someone to upload a video to YouTube, showing the fire and smoke everywhere.
Took a pic and a video of this work train resting for the weekend in the smoke from the fires out west. Glendive here is FAR from the fires but it has affected visibilty here to the extent that 1/4 mile is max at times. Also did a video of this set.
