The express to Cincinnati will soon gain a few miles on the hotshot. The passenger express is on a model of the Big Warrior Bridge (MR, August 1978?), and the freight is on a modified Eads bridge from St. Louis—the deck was placed below the arch rather than above. Few notice the rescue effort below, as a barge threatens to swamp in the DeWitt River turbulence. The USGS “tug” was built before I got interested in ships, so it is admittedly incorrect. The dent in the E8 nose is from a dive to the floor, but seems prototypical.
