The Congressional Special, headed westbound with a shiny EMD8 AA unit, clears Pittston and enters Bridges Gorge. An eastbound hotshot rumbles off the bridge, coasting downhill. The double-track North Bridge is a heavily fortified and extended version of the main span of the Big Warrior. While this is questionable in the prototype, the bridge has a “look” that complements the other bridges.
