One of my train buddies operating while the removable bridge is installed. Don't worry, even when bumped, not a single car or loco has been knocked off the layout.

Sand Springs Railway - Vigo Dog Food - The Vigo can for the sign was a black and white photo that I copied from my high school yearbook, then with yellow colored pencil I changed it to the family yellow label, which I remember from my youth. The structure is scratch built with Holgate Reynold paper covering the styrene. The turbines are beads from a hobby store.

Sand Springs Railway - Wall girder construction, facia, skyboard and lighting. There are 15 low energy track lights and 3 dimmable ceiling fan lights 2 of which are low energy, the third is a low energy spot to light up the return loop. The track lights highlight the layout very well, without filling the room with light.

Sand Springs Railway - Yard Tracks - ballast and dirt were free, all you do is dig and sift. The engine house has clear plastic roof (dusted with flat black paint) looks like tar roof. The overhead track lighting illuminates the interior.

Sand Springs Railway - The white building (Veale Concrete) was scratch built using corigated styrene plastic. The small team track building was scratch built by my good friend Gary and many of the vehicles and people were provided by Gary and my good friends Jan and Brad.

Sand Springs Railway - Loco #101 making the turnaround. My first Sand Springs engines were made using Life Like SW8's and digitrax dz121 decoders. They looked a little better than they ran. Second set of engines (as shown) I converted from Kato NW2's with plug and play decoders, with preferred results.

Sand Springs Railway - Another embossed paper covered building. The power poles were made from wooden cotton swab sticks (again about 20 years old from a previous layout) The rotors in the cooling station are compression fittings that I modified. This sign like many others on the layout was printed from a typical program that comes on almost all computers. The other signs on the layout are usually dry transfers.

Sand Springs Railway - West end of West Tulsa interchange, Occasionally we have "all steam day" on the Sand Springs layout and a turntable is used to turn the engines. A crew of pole setters are working on telephone poles. The wench in the truck was kitbashed with a diesel truck fuel tank and a few pieces of styrene. The telephone poles were scratchbuilt from brass.

A couple of my model train buddies had a "limited run" of Texas and Pacific's F-7's made by InterMountain. They came by to test run them on my layout, they were so cool. My congratulations to IM on this run, nice job.

SS Rwy - Yard and Service Facility Fuel Service - Modified fuel truck by cutting open back panel and using flexible wire as the fuel hose. Skyboard - When drilling hole for the switch signal, I damaged the skyboard, with just a little paint, it became a tower in the distance.

Sand Springs Railway - Embossed over styrene scratch built again. Note the doors were cut open on the truck. The tank at the side is pvc with styrene glue to the end. The fork lift load of corrigated boxes is made from a cut up brown paper sack. The white post that you see around the layout mark where I put uncoupling magnets.
