BNSF Derail

Crews struggle to right a loaded centerbeam flat car that was layed on its side by a derail.

      Is that a "Derail" switch under the car? I think a derail is supposed to keep cars on the siding from rolling out onto the main. Is that what happens when they try to shove the cars through from the other direction?
