Pekin Interlocking Tower

The Pekin Interlocking Tower at Big 4 Jct in Pekin overlooked the PPU tracks (pictured) where they crossed the CCC& StL. This 1982 view looks south to where P&PU ran down the middle of 3rd Street in the 1970s. The former P&E Engine House is 200' to the west; the soon to be torn down Sante Fe station is 2 blocks east; the P&E and Sante Fe yards begin here and go east about 1/2 mile. The P&E's "Whiskey Main", serving the elevators and American Distillery along the river front, crossed the P&PU on the far side of the Tower and curved under the Rte 9 Bridge to run yards from the river's edge down about 1 mile to the P&PU Pekin Farm Yard and to the yard for the Corn Products Plant

When they were still in place, where were the Big 4 tracks?

Somebody should grab that train order rack! Get it to a museum!
