WOW, your water color is the best I've seen to date! do tell your secret to such realistic water?

Thank you very much for the compliment.

Nothing special as to colour: Payne's Grey with lots of gloss medium over the top. Same approach as I use in the Slocan Lake barge shots. I have lotttttsssss of lake water area to cover so I needed something fast and replicable. The water in the removable barge areas (Slocan City and Rosebery) also need to be coloured without adding appreciably to the water height as it would effect the rail heights on the slip and how the barges "dock" to them.

      thx again

your most welcome, Ive seen your videos on youtube, Im impressed with your ideas on getting track to all corners of your layout room! im working on my design as i type for my spare bedroom N scale layout. I have some lakes and rivers to cross, so anything that will make my layout all the more beliveable the better, where can I get Paynes gray?
thanks keep up the fantastic work!

I see payne's grey is a name of a color, not a brand, Will check this out at the art supply store, do you use acrylic?
    • Mark Dance
Yep...tube acrylic Payne's grey with lots of gloss medum on top. No magic at all.
