VIA F40 N scale

I love chopping fuel tanks as often the stock model has one thing or another amiss with details regarding a fuel tank. I had never tried this alteration before but it was pretty simple. Kato builds the F40 with the fuel tank forward and a single side utility box. Many roads, VIA in this case arrange the undercarriage with boxes forward, one on each side and the tank mounted between the boxes and air tanks. This was actually a pretty easy alteration and takes about 1 hour with a good saw to remove the tank weight and then reposition it. The tank itself snaps off and just needs to be placed over the weight in the new position. The box can be split in two and then positioned back in front of the tank. While I was at it this tank move required moving the left side door to match the now moved tank steps. I also applied a full detail package including but not limited to working ditch lights and photo etched fans. I elected to model an early VIA version before the inertial filter was changed to the multiple box style intake. Anyone else think this conversion makes it a little closer to real and looks cool?
