Good morning from cloudy and rainy Northeast Ohio! Not much done this week so here are a couple of old pictures at the club that I took! PC SD40 and SD45 with a general freight! NYC C430's with a Flexivan Train! Thanks for looking, and some new cars that will be finished next week! Rick Jesionowski
I'm pleased at my progress. I was kind-a stuck for a brief time so I ate 4 Pepperidge Farm, double chocolate Nantucket Dark chocolate chip cookies. My brain instantly cleared up and progress was made.
Good to see you healthy and back, Candy, and I'll over particular kudos on the look of the grass along the platform.
Same here and also the grass in between the rails, looks like very hardly used spur - Great!!!! Rick Jesionowski
What happens when Candy eats the entire package of Pepperidge Farm, double chocolate Nantucket Dark chocolate chip cookies ?
Very Nice! Pepperidge Farm, double chocolate Nantucket Dark chocolate chip cookies must be inspirational indeed. The scenery has a wonderful texture that speaks of slight (but not excessive) neglect and the casual placement of details lends an air of workaday practicality to the whole scene. Just one question- Can we have the Ford panel truck back? It sorta looked like it grew there.
One of my first "official" N scale locomotives. (I had Lone Star Lectric 000 before). This Arnold Rapido USRA Pacific has been highly modified. New details on the boiler, cut down flanges on the drivers and a Bachmann oil tender. Supposed to be a Southern Pacific (T&NO) P-13 class.
Hi everyone and have a great weekend. I finished the renumbering on a weathered GP35 i have previously posted here. I also added mu-hoses and handmade coupler cut levers. The finished model was placed on a newly built small diorama/presentation base, next to a previous work of mine the E8m. The scene depicts, "somewhere in California back in 1965". I hope you like it! Yannis
Great work, people! Nice to see you back, Candy. Those photos are just right with the oblique lighting - that really brings out the detail and natural light always makes models look more realistic.
I love it, Candy! WOW! I'd love to sit next to you and watch you create something. I'm very sure I'd learn mucho! I'm glad you share your talent with us! Thank you.
Excellent weathering on both engines, Yannis. The dusty, sun faded, hard worked look on the GP35 is superb. You've totally nailed the "southwestern U.S" look. Much different than the enchantment blue and crud scheme I saw on C&O Geeps as a kid back then.
I always try to put myself in any scene I have in my head. What would I see if I was really there? Simple details are so important. If I saw a trash can that was just emptied; would the guy that emptied it put the lid back on or just leave it. Most guys would leave it, I thought. So I left it off.
Railmix many thanks for the kind words! Much appreciated feedback about the weathering, glad that it captures the "right" flavor. Thanks everyone for the many "likes"! I am building a couple of simplistic dioramas in order to practice on the southwestern look scenery-wise before starting on my next layout sometime during Xmas. Great work everyone as usual! The level is extremely high as usual!
