I've always thought the early Rock Island passenger scheme of red, maroon and silver was quite attractive. Also Milwaukee Road orange, maroon and black and last but not least Rock Island freight black and red.
I may be the only person who thinks so, but I'm pretty fond of the Great Northern Big Sky Blue scheme. the SP&S Broad Stripe scheme was also nice, and easy to paint too! I'm also a fan of the original GN EB scheme.
I must agree that Doyle's PA did look very nice, when I got to see it up close and personal: Now thinking- Has this unit ever been operated? I don't remember such an event. Just static display?
Espee Daylight and Black Widow. While I'm now modeling HOn3 DRG/W, I've got N scale articles in both schemes scattered among the detritus that is my office/workshop. The Bloody Nose scheme is okay, just seems to go with the other two... Second the steam engine assertion; makes for fine dark tonality in both color and monochrome images. However, I thought 3D printing loco parts in black resin would be appropriate, but it makes it too hard to see the details...
Diggin' up bones!! Fav railroad is Rio Grande, so black and Aspen Gold are my fav colors. I love orange, so it works out!
I always really loved the SP Black Widow livery on the F7. What a handsome devil - if I was doing domestic freight for my layout instead of Japanese passenger trains, would definitely want one. For overall schemes and not just individual trains though, probably Canadian National. I like the Furx green & silver, too . I guess I like bright colors!
I like the colors, school colors, they go good in autumn, past my home in New England, river I fly fished and I just plain like yellow and green. John
That's rather dull compared to the Appalachian Mts by my old homestead in western Massachusetts. Mountains looked like a box of TRIX cereal from back in '60s.
My favorite. Of course it could change in the future? Even the rolling stock matches And it was kind of cool to see that CSX runs in my area too. Who knew? Not me. I think the scheme is called a box something? Maybe I am wrong? It's Boxcar I like the Yellow ( I think it is Yellow ), brackets in the CSX logo. N GE ES44DC "GEVO" CSX "BOXCAR"
