Well, looks like we have a winner for today! This is definitely an original idea! I'd say give it a try! :)

Is that foobie a factory job or did the seller do it? If a factory job, I can not say that I have ever seen one. Thus, it might be worth something to a collector, but I can not imagine that it is worth that much, even to a collector.

Ah, the Bachmann Babes.......too bad they stopped coming to the G-bergs. They had many shells and other items that I used for bashing and repairs. Also, they had all of those four wheel cabooses that suddenly became quite sought-after when the Atlas Shay appeared.

Somebody had mentioned a long time ago that they had an EBay store but I have never found it. Had extremely great prices on their cars and locos and my large stock of old time flats that are the basis for most of my logging cars came mostly from them.

John, the eBay handle "sunnyswarehouse" (I think that's right) has a fair amount of Bachmann stuff from time to time, but I don't know if there's any relation to the young ladies who frequently sold at the Greenberg shows and similar venues.

    Reasonable?!

That seller (j****-trains) has always been a greedy-priced seller, asking roughly 20% -100% more than NEW pricing, for USED merchandise.

    examples:
    - USED - KATO 176-6301 N GAUGE AMERICAN BNSF SD70MAC DIESEL LOCO #9776 - Asking $106.99 w/shipping, sold NEW by Baltimore area discounter for $54.99
    - USED - N-Scale Atlas 40916 Articulated Auto Carrier TTX 880181 IOB - asking $46.99 w/shipping, online discount price when NEW $27.49

Maybe back in the day someone of the collecting persuasion would have paid $25 for it... but not used, not with the "price blacked out" and certainly not with Rapido couplers. Rapido-coupler equipped Micro-Trains cars (and there were a lot of them!) historically got only a fraction (sometimes a small fraction) of what the same car with Kadee Magne-Matic Couplers would sell for.

For those of you who have been around enough to know about these things: How about a Kadee boxcar with Clip-On Trucks with Rapido Couplers?!? I have at least one of these cars somewhere down here in the archives. It's worth at least what I paid for it (which is to say, original MSRP of something like $3).

I bought my first M-T car as soon as it became available. The 40' GTW box car, with Kadee couplers. I was a member of the original group which researched all of the Kadee, then M-T stuff. The "KDVCC". (Kadee Variations Collectors Club.) It was from our efforts the whole darned thing sprang up. Even M-T used some of our information.

Ah, there's something we have in common. The database I kept of MTL regular runs became a source document for the "data base" that MTL makes available on its website.

You've probably seen my page on the GTW 40 foot boxcar, or what I call "Car One":

I'm not sure whether this belongs in the A1G thread or this one... a slight shading to this one given the opening price. When accounting for inflation, this set which I believe was $19.98 MSRP in 1969 would be $129.52. But that's "all else being equal" which it isn't.

At any rate, it's a bit of nostalgia for me as well... though the freight cars are different, this is the set that started me on N Scale.

Not ebay humor, but rather than start a new thread, im snraking in a question for mu fellow ebayophiles. Can a seller be blocked? I know sellers can block buyers. Id rather not go into any why questions. Thanks in advance.

Anyone should be able to be added to your "Blocked Bidders List"
