I'll add my thanks to all who have expressed appreciation for all these signs! I'd like to comment on the recent request for pictures of the signs in use. I think the pictures are great as well, but they should be in a separate thread. So far, this thread had been entirely just signs, and I think it will become unwieldy if it is now filled with "in use" pictures. Could we keep it just signs? Don't get me wrong, I'd still like to see pictures of how members have used the signs -- these pictures foster many ideas! I just think keeping them separate fromt he signs resource is better. TomKat, Is there any way you have an index of the advertisers whose signs you have posted? You have blessed us with so many signs on so many pages, it would be easy to overlook a sign for a specific company if one were to search for it. For instance, I'm looking for a sign that would be over a storefront for New York Life Insurance Co (NYLIC)during mid-50s. I remember such a store, but can't find a graphic of the sign to put on a DPM building. Thanks Bill B South Okaloosa N Scalers
Bill I wish that I had the extra time to better track the signs. I know that there are duplicates of signs, I try to use memory when I find more signs, but it is hard with so many to choose from. I track a lot of online auctions to find most of the signs & post them as I find them. With working 40-50 hrs a week at my real job I do this in my spare time. I also enjoy making the background buildings, http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=128328 for others to use on their backdrops. Tom
That's OK, Tomkat. Even though I am retired now, I clearly remember working days. I don't find your reply surprising in the least. I actually expected that response. No harm in asking, though. I figured chances were slim, but if I didn't ask I would guarantee there would be zero chance. I like slim better, even though it didn't pan out this time. You are doing all of us quite a service finding all of these and posting them. I hope I didn't sound like I thought you owed us any more. Bill B South Okaloosa N Scalers
