I didn't change both motors entirely I changed the brushes and springs in one of the motors and the other I had to change the motor to match the speed of the one with the new brushes. So I technically changed both motors.

    Two new engines here:
received a new Bachmann NYC 4-6-0 from George that runs very well on DC,
and a Life-Like Erie-Built in PRR livery from ebay, which is running smooth and strong. Since I already have the two PRR versions, this one had to be renumbered. The Microscale letters are quite different from what LL used, now I think about renumbering the second engine, too.
    Sorry, no pictures :(

P.S.: I chose to run the new A with the existing B unit, so the difference in lettering will not show. The two older A-units are running together. A full A-B-A set is too big for my layout

I thought about this a while and it seemed like it has been a long time since I purchased a new locomotive. Then I remembered that at the last N Scale Weekend in Bedford, PA which was in August, 2010, I purchased four Atlas undecorated GP7's and two LifeLike undecorated SW 9's. All non DCC and all new. My locomotive needs are now complete unless someone comes out with some good PRR steamers.

I passed on a 2-8-8-2 in Pensy this afternoon. I thought the $125 wasn't bad except no dcc.

I did not pass on the ConCor 2-10-2 and Like Like 4-6-2. Really good prices on both and they are running on DC like a champ. Now to get them DCC equipped.

Lucked out on some GN FT's (both the sideboard 4xx scheme and the later 6700) in ABBA. Then, caught a sale on a 3rd (for me) NP F7 in the pine tree paint scheme, along with a half-price brand new LL GP18 in NP. Also snatched a cheap Np RDC so now I have both Kato RDC's . One is running cruddy, gotta clean gears.....

In the mail soon? LL NP SW9!

    Life is good......

PS I just picked up some new motive power in my 1:1 scale car hobby..... found a steal on an Ivory '86 Chrysler 5th Avenue that looks showroom-new! Everyone says it's a grandpa car... I'm 28 years old going on 65 : )

I am into the famous or well decorated passenger consists, such as the Broadway Limited, 20th Century Limited, Daylight and others, and always working on them not as sets, but purchased individually.

I am working on the Santa Fe passenger set, and yes I have a Kato set on lay-away, until my pension next month. Meanwhile, I saw a very nice pair of Life-Like SF E8a/b in warbonnet scheme, which was darn nice, and on sale for $100 for the pair. They are the split metal frame versions, and run beautifully.

I replaced the rapido couplers with body mount Unimates and glued diaphragms on the ends and that is the extent of my "upgrade". I do not want to compromise the integrity, and when reading about SF, I read they kept their passenger consists very clean, so no weathering. They are running right now.

Hey, if every time you get in and love driving it, who cares. I had a nice 2005 Grand Cherokee WK, nice Jeep but I got rid of it and bought a 1997 TJ Wrangler. Love it, won't get rid of this one. Crazy? Sure, I'd trade two Grand Cherokees for my TJ.

Back to on topic. Starting a new project, GP40. I looked on line everywhere and no one had them. Well surprise, surprise as I was unpacking in the train room and found an Atlas GP40. Now I need to order an undec body and truck frames for it.

CSX, all I can say is WOW!!! This surely makes a winner for both UP and Kato for reproducing this series. I have the SP Daylight SD70ACe and it is one of my favorite diesels even though I am a transition era Pennsy modeler.

This loco on your photo just rocks!!!!

Just put it on my wish list for next month, it is that inspirational.

Thanks for showing it, and I am sure next month the owner of my LHS will be thanking you, too.
