Thanks. I got into trains living in the Portland, OR area. When I can build a "permanent" layout, P&W will handle local switching duty, while UP and BNSF will run on the mainline.
Last week I took delivery of a unique little loco. While I was perusing BLW, I ran across one of their many long-out-of-stock listings, and I decided that I wanted it. I hit theBay and found exactly one listed. Four days later, it hit the layout. It's the Sunset Imports PRR DD-1. This is my first brass locomotive. It's a beautiful little loco, and a great runner! It inspired me to make my first YouTube video.
Though all of these are not new to me , one AB set was and I now have all re-numbered and some details added. They all sit on the new DCC chassis as well. Thanks , Mike
Thanks Karl , even though I just worked on them 4 of the sets have done much work on the ACTRR in the distant past. Thanks , Mike
Now fix that handrail behind the cab so the engineer can get in and run it. :tb-err::tb-biggrin: Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Here are a couple of pics that I took a year ago of the Rock Island 513. It looked brand new and was in a consist behind IAIS 501. Pardon the crappy pictures; I didn't have a digital camera with me and had to go get a throw away film camera. These pics were taken in Council Bluffs.
 (they aren't bad pictures at all) From lots of pictures the overall detail FVM did it really well.. Its just not as durable as a Kato.. thats my only problem with it.
My newest addition is a B-Mann Spectrum Steam Powered Baldwin 2-8-0 Consolidation. Rock Island #2118. There is a new shop that opened in Marietta,Ga. And he was open Memorial Day. He was there setting up shop so he decided to open while he was there. It was a DCC model and my temp track is DC. The creep speed on the DC powered track is so awesome. The wife saw it first and said, "Look at this one, it's a Rock Island. I like that one." I buy more stuff when she comes along train shopping with me. I also picked up 5 more box cars. She picked out 2 and I picked out 3. Gotta love a wife that supports your hobby. Don
