I didn't read the rest of the thread. All I want from Atlas is something similar to the runner packs that MTL does, and the 6 to 12 car releases that IMRC does.

They have, but only cars I've seen them do it for are the Coalveyor rotary gons. Done up to 12 numbers per road name per release.

It's fall of 1949. The transition era is in full swing. Diesel is starting to displace steam, even on SP's Modoc Route. I need 40 foot brown boxcars decorated for SP, T&NO, ATSF, DRGW, etc. I need a lot of them.

after reading the genset comment another unit for modern modelers... errr those who model shortlines like the PSAP which is another road in the G&W empire are the GP20D's leased out by CEFX. I haven't seen one out here recently though, the CORP GP unit must've replaced it.

There weren't nearly enough of those made to justify anything bullion. Brass or shapeways.

Wait a minute! I know its not N scale, but Athearn made a Genset in HO scale that sold quite well to my knowledge.

It was Atlas, but yeah, they seemed to sell well. (just from what I heard, I have no hard data to support that) They were "Trainman Plus".

That picture does not show a genset. That is a GP20D and only a handful were built.

I know I'm going back a couple of days to the original point of the thread (sorry). The last run of Atlas SD60s came out last year (INRD, SOO, CP, CSX to name a few). I just checked woo woo woo ¤¤¤¤¤, most are available at clearance prices because they were such hot sellers (sarcasm). Why would Atlas make another run when the stores haven't gotten rid of the last batch yet?

Slightly off topic, but someone should consider designing and producing flexicoil trucks on Shapeways for Conrail SD40-2s if they are going to think about Conrail SD60I cabs.

If I could beg Atlas for a new product, it would be a EMD Phase III GP-9 in N&W offered in MANY numbers with the "gothic" herald. Now for all of those Trailer Train flat cars a release of 45' Pines Trailers in 1980's and possibly early 90's common motor carriers would be nice. Then something a few years later (or whenever the 48' trailers hit the road) for the slightly later TTX flats would be nice too. As it is, I've been taking some of my mix of Atlas, MTL, and DeLux trailers and have them custom painted by a friend into J.B. Hunt of the early '90's.
