In the pic below the Kato SD45 frame is on the left, the SD40 frame from their last run is on the right. This SD40 frame will accept the Digitrax...
Awesome! Fantastic work!
The Kato SD45 frame is not DCC ready. The latest SD40 run had DCC ready frames and these will fit the SD45 shell.
Boy! That is some fantastic modeling!
Here a shot of a TTX DC flat I took last Friday. It will give some idea of the look of the "Deck". [img] [ 25. March 2004, 04:27:...

I had the "Chipped Paint" problem on my OKWYS. Emailed Atlas and they told me to return the shells. They replaced both. That was about a year...
Kato USA has a new "Poster" on their site. Take a look at their new products! http://www.katousa.com/images/2004-New-Model-Poster1-800.jpg

Try watching EBay. It may be the only place to find one.
After reading this thread and viewing the photos. I will stop waiting for the SD45-2 in the MRL scheme. Boy! What a disappointment! :(
If Atlas states in their ad that it will be decoder ready, it should be the same frame.
Now that the New Atlas N Scale SD-9s are here. The quest for a DCC decoder that works has been won. Atlas stated a pnp decoder would be available...
I think I'll wait for the MRL SD45-2! ;)
