Install light board over decoder, run wires as shown, spread away from rear LED so the shell / lightpipe will fit normally, cut 4 remaining wires...
Insulate frame / decoder with Kapton, cut motor wires to length, then solder to motor tabs
De-solder motor wires then re-solder them to decoder facing forward, de-solder blue wire and discard.
Buzz the LED's to verify they light
Re-solder the 1.2K resistors to the negative lead of the LED's
De-solder all parts from this side
I wanted to have a second GP30 for my Guilford roster (yes, I know - Guilford never had this model), so I repainted and decaled a Proto2000 GP30...
I know, Guilford never had GP30's, but I love this EMD model pretty much, so I had to paint one myself into Guilford Colors.
