#151 Arriving "Midland The 'watchers' are Yardmaster Flannigan, and Conductor Bob Fischer. Engine #2865 is delivering local cars for further dispatchment destinations. Lawrence Baggerly Collection.
A question- In my filing of train orders, I had someone tell me that Midland was not a town, but was located in or near a town named "Paris", Illinois. Is this true?
2865 was a fine looking Class L-2 Mohawk built by Alco in the 1920's. Thanks for another historical photo, Roger.
The 2800s were built only for the mainline , NYC . They were a better engine then the 2900s ,not much but ,they fired and the water pumps seemed to be more in line with the work being done . This is a little tidbit you don't see much about . LEW
