    A photo from the Cairo Line local - L to R..Engineer John Franklin, Fireman [unknown], and Conductor Bob Fischer - after yarding the train at Midland, and getting ready to turn the Engine at the Paris Roundhouse. The L-2 just barely fit the Turntable, and in 1951, these "Turns" were the last gasp of steam on the Cairo Line.

    Roger, another great crew shot. Thanks to you and Larry for this history. Is it my imagination or were all the firemen wiry guys like the guy in your photo, back then?

    It would seem that a lot of them were. Maybe because they moved coal by hand.
