    Hi All,

Does anyone know if Marklin, or other manufacturer, makes any 1840s British steam engines?

    Best,

    Ray

Ray sorry, Marklin does not offer British Z scale. I don't know of any circa 1840s British Z locomotives. Railex has offered in the past very high end brass steam locos of the period. There is a small group of Z scalers who are custom creating British shells for Marklin steam locomotives. These are more of a later steam era offering.

There is a whole issue of Ztrack Magazine dedicated to British outline Z scale. The PDF of version of the issue is still available:

I personally would be amazed by any 1840's steam that runs well in N Scale, let alone Z Scale
