It looks like the ticket was punched on December 31 1897

I wonder what the cost of riding 1000 miles would be then.

What is a "Commercial Ticket" as opposed to a normal Passenger Ticket that anybody could buy at any ticket window?

    - My first thought was that it was similar to the Commutation Ticket my Father bought each month for his daily commute into GCT.
    - But then I wondered about the "1000 Mile", and how mileage would be tracked.
    - But then the "December 31, 1897" expiration date implies that unlimited mileage was allowed before the ticket expired.
    - But then....H E L P, Roger, what does it all mean?

Aside from the above poor attempt at humor, that's a great find, and in remarkably good condition.

What was different about the "Mt. Gilead Short Line" that caused it to be excluded from the ticket?

Where did you find that Roger? A very historical remnant, dating back that far.

It was sent to me some time back. Unfortunately, after a computer crash, I no longer have the sender. Sorry.
