(This was originally yellow but I found that black and white shows the detail better) This train sheet is from the 1920's -- looks like it was used in both depots and towers to "OS" trains on the Big 4, as well as a few other NYC subsidiary lines, as shown at the top of the page. Interesting form for control and recording long before computers, but essentially the same format. What is curious is that there are 26 entries for trains (13 each way), but only 6 entries for orders. Thanks, Roger
This is just an "OS" sheet, a record of times of trains arriving/departing/passing an office. Not all trains would receive "orders"(to run against traffic, speed or other restriction)...as this format was probably used in ABS (Automatic Block Signal) territory to record and pass to later shifts, traffic at the location, and orders issued during a shift.
