I model modern (BN, BNSF) but I also model mid-1950s (GN) when there were real passenger trains like the Empire Builder.

I hate to be so typical but I grew up in the 50's and I'm nostalgic for my youth next to the B&M tracks. So I'm stereotyped.... what can you do? ron

Modern era here as well. 80's-90's era SOO Line, before the Wisconsin Central bought out the Michigan trackage.

I see modern every day when I drive under the BNSF and CNW/UP main lines into Chicago on the way to work, and I have the CN's newly acquired EJ&E tracks a couple of blocks away. Not interesting to me. Its the mid 60's for me, when there were more than six Class 1 railroads, than one passenger railroad, and in addition to the EMD's and GE's, there were Baldwins, FM's and oh yeah, Alcos, not that we have any of that in affordable Z, but one can wish. I want Alcos, I want Alcos, I want Alllllllcooooosooooos.... are your hearing that MT and AZL? Something else other than EMD please?
