Welcome to my first Wednesday aka MidWeek aka Hump Day. It is my intention to post on Wednesday about 30 times a year. The subjects will likely be 'CEQ':
Cheap - Maybe you already have the items / materials / tools
Easy - Not a lot of skill required and not tedious.
Quick - Ideally they will be 2 to 4 hour projects.

    Important:
Disclosure: Most likely I will be doing videos based on these projects and adding them to my YouTube channel. I will not quote anyone by name at any time without their permission. I might include their ideas.
Suggestions: I am open to suggestion on subjects / projects / concepts / ideas

    Today's Project / Thread
    Uses for Extruded Insulation Foam
Cheap: - Hopefully left over but new sheets range from
$8 for a 1"x2'x2', ($2sq foot), up to about $50 for a 2"x2'x8', (~$3 sq foot). You can get larger sheets but at 1/2"(and thicker), x4'x8' it gets complicated transporting.
Note: Other methods might be cheaper.
Easy: Cutting / shaping is easy with a box cutter, keyhole saw or stiff back / cross cut saws. Some attachments on a Demel might work but practice first.
Quick: Perhaps you want a small hill. Carving one up might take 30 to 90 minutes including painting.

A short list of actual uses:
    1. Hills and Mountains - I hope to do a quick topic on this next week, (Wed., Dec. 6th).
    2. 'Blocking Out' a structure - What looks / feels right / will fit in a given area. Cutting up a piece of foam to approximately the right size or portions is a fairly easy wat to find out.
    3. Car loads - It may take practice and a very sharp blade to smooth cut 'blocks' of granite for your flat car.
There must be other applications. Please do share how you have used it.

Hope to see you next week,
    Grey One

Many of us build our layouts on a base of 'Extruded Insulation Foam'. I'm guessing there is usually some left over.
