    John,

The 2-8-8-2 was purchased several years ago, at the "The Great Train Store" here in Wash. DC, when the hobby shop was selling top quality N-scale.
Yes the manufacturer names on the tender bottom shows ConCor,Rivarossi and Minitrains. The body shell is different then most models. The plastic has a nice dull look and not the usual high shine.
I gave it a slight PRR look as did the PRR railroad back when they hauled the coal on the flat lands west of Pittsburgh. I would have loved seeing one of these 2-8-8-2's going around the Altoona Horseshoe curve. Not sure if it could handle the curves?

    Eddie,
They sure have a great looking flat finish to them, I own alot of Rivarossi loco's and all have a decent paint on them from factory, But some of mine were N&W, Y6b's, and I customized them to B&O, EL-5, and EL-6's. Plus one Ended up being customized to a B&O, LL-1, which is a 0-8-8-0, with a short "switcher type" square tender. Anyway the N scale version you have posted are identical looking to their big brother the HO scale version.

Alot of work to take a Y6b and turn it into an LL-1 believe me, I don'e a ton of hackin the plastic on it... And being it was more or less a parts loco when I got it, (I needed the gearing for a EL-6 "2-8-8-0" to make it run). I made the LL-1 "0-8-8-0" a temporary dummy steamer.... Till I get to a place that has the 2 gear boxes I need for in it to make it powered! :D

Brooklyn Locomotives is listing the engine at $169 (Ouch) :( They also have the retail price listed at $275. (Double Ouch)

I think I'll stick to the $70 modern diesels. [IMG]

Because the real old time 2-8-0s had blind drivers.
